Reading to babies sparks their brain development and creativity. It helps them succeed later when they enter school, and sharing books with your baby lays the foundation for academic success, a healthy self-esteem and confidence to pursue personal and professional goals.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides a free, age appropriate book each month to children age 0-5. Each month a new, carefully selected book is mailed directly to the child's home.
Who is eligible?
Children age 0-5 residing in St. Landry or Evangeline Parish.
How Can You Help?
If you know a child who is eligible, living in St. Landry or Evangeline Parish who is not receiving a Dolly Parton Imagination Library book, give their parents a registration form and encourage them to fill it out and mail it to the address below, or register online at
If you would like to support this program through a financial gift, please click the donate button. A donation of $50 will provide 12 books to a child and support the educational initiatives of St. Landry-Evangeline United Way. A donation of $250 will provide a newborn with 60 books by the time he/she is ready for kindergarten, and support the educational initiatives of St. Landry-Evangeline United Way!
