Granting Resources
SPONSORS ARE NEEDED FOR 2005!
A unique program will be available this year to non-profit organizations providing services in St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes. Granting Resources is a program of St. Landry-Evangeline United Way that provides assistance to non-profit organizations in finding resources needed to fulfill their mission. All requests are accepted by the Fund Distribution Committee on a quarterly basis, as funding is available and the committee then makes a recommendation to the Board of Directors for final approval. Resources provided could be contract labor to write a grant or information and referrals for other resources.
St. Landry-Evangeline United Way is seeking sponsors of $5,000 for Granting Resources. All literature, press releases and news articles will identify sponsors and special recognition will be given at the annual United Way banquet.
Although showing that your company is a good corporate citizen is very important to you and the community, this sponsorship will give an organization the tools to grow and provide more needed services to our local residents. The organization will learn to be self sufficient, more accountable and financially sound and therefore less dependent on local funding. Some organizations are all volunteers or have few staff and have no time to write a grant or learn the skills needed to find other resources. Granting Resources will remove that barrier and assist them in finding other resources that will increase services to our citizens in need. The outcome of this program will be more outside resources for local organizations and a decrease in local funding needs. A special report will be sent to all sponsors yearly with a detailed list of assistance and organizations helped.

Your $5,000 sponsorship, along with others, will start a unique program that will be a model for others to follow.
