St. Landry-Evangeline United Way does not just rely on workplace campaigns, but throughout the year, we sponsor various fundraisers.
The Boogie Ball - October, 2014
August 25, 2012 - The Boogie Ball is considered the Campaign Kick-off Event. It is held at the Opelousas Civic Center and provides patrons live entertainment by the Boogie Kings, amazing food, and a silent and live auction. The event gives us the opportuntiy to generate excitement for the upcoming campaign, honor our donors and sponsors, and bring awareness to the community.
The Harlem Ambassadors - February 20, 2014
February 20, 2014- With proceeds going to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, this "less-than-serious" famous basket ball team will square off with our local team for an exciting match. Together with this fun event, the Ambassadors will conduct a teen meeting with area students focusing on staying in school, staying off drugs, and keeping a positive attitude.
Community Events Planned
In the planning stages are community-focused events such as a Stuff the Bus school supply drive; Day of Action that will bring corporate teams out into the community to engage in special projects and tasks. Community Events TBA
